Before you arrive

Before day one, make sure these basics are already in motion:

  • Your signed contract is on file.
  • Your home address and emergency contact are in the HR portal.
  • A laptop, charger, and core accounts have been prepared.
  • Your manager has shared your arrival time and office location.

Bring a valid ID on your first day. If you are starting remotely, keep it available for identity verification during the onboarding call.

What your first day looks like

The goal of day one is not to make you productive in four hours. It is to make sure you know the people, tools, and routines that will help you settle in quickly.

Accounts and tools you should receive

By the end of your first day, you should have access to:

  • Email and calendar
  • Slack
  • Password manager
  • HR portal
  • Expense portal
  • Project and ticketing tools

If anything is missing, raise it immediately through the IT support channel rather than waiting for the end of the week.

Your first-week checklist

The first week is for orientation, not perfection. These are the outcomes that matter:

  1. You can sign in to every required system.
  2. You know how to book leave and submit an expense.
  3. You have met your manager, team, and buddy.
  4. You understand the priorities for your first 30 days.

Your first 30 days

By the end of your first month, you should be able to:

  1. Deliver your first meaningful piece of work with manager support.
  2. Explain your team’s priorities and how your role contributes.
  3. Use core workflows independently for leave, expenses, and support.
  4. Work confidently in Helixiora’s remote-first and async-first model.

Where to go next

After onboarding, most people next need the time off policy, expenses page, and travel guide.
